Country Living

When you live off the land as we do, fishing & hunting are a big part of our lives. You'll never hear Chad complain about having to go catch dinner.

Bee-ginning

Apiarist & friend, Dave Collins (on right) got us started in beekeeping a few years back. Dave & Chad work together to maintain our collective hives

Bee-licious

This is a frame from one of our Top-Bar Hives. In this type of hive, the bees are responsible for making their own honeycomb suspended from the top bar. They then will fill it with brood, pollen or honey.

Chad with Bee Swarm

Chad just brought this swarm down from the top of a 25' Eastern Red Cedar near our bee yard. He climbed up the trunk, sawed off the limb & climbed back down with the branch in his teeth!!!!!
Bees are docile while they swarm so it is fairly safe to be in close proximity without protective gear.
